Meet the Visionary

Jewel Unique Milliken is an award-winning certified Make-Up Artist and Small Business Owner based in Raleigh, NC. With a passion for makeup ignited at age 11, Jewel has cultivated a remarkable career over her 29 years in the beauty industry.

A graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a degree in Psychology, Jewel has been recognized for her academic excellence, including induction into the Psi Chi National Honor Society and membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She began her professional journey at Sephora in 2010, where she honed her skills through multiple trainings at Sephora University in New York and San Francisco. Her expertise led to collaborations with luxury brands like Dior, Chanel, and Fenty, and her promotion to Senior Artist, where she trained and developed aspiring makeup artists.

Jewel is also a dedicated educator, offering classes such as Beauty Basics 101 and Skin Care Basics. Jewel served as a board member of the Cosmetology and Esthetics program at Wake Technical Community College in addition, her commitment to the community is evident through her involvement in service projects like “SWAG” Sisters Who Adore GOD and her role as a judge for beauty competitions.

Her accolades include the 2024 Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, an Honorary Doctorate in Humanitarianism, and multiple recognitions as Small Business of the Year. Jewel’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through her latest venture, Lux Studio Suites, which provides luxury studio rentals for esthetics professionals.

With a loyal clientele and a vision to uplift the beauty industry, Jewel continues to inspire and empower others through her artistry and community service.
